Last week a young girl from about eight to ten years old was found at the border of India and Nepal living with a pack of monkeys. Police were notified by the local Katarniaghat wildlife preserve who reported their findings. When the authorities were obtaining the young girl she was screeching and walking on all fours, communicating with the monkeys who were attempting to stop the police from taking her. The girl was found with severe signs of malnourishment and had multiple lacerations on her body. The police have yet to locate the young girl’s parents however, the girl will be turned over to child welfare when she recovers. Many are astounded comparing this to the Kipling’s “The Jungle Book” where a young boy named Mowgli was raised in the jungle by wolves. It is also thought to be “Tarzan” where the boy is raised in the jungle by monkeys like the young girl found last week. It is currently unknown how this young girl found her way living with the monkeys but one thing is for sure, it makes for a intriguing story.
